The smell of spring!

This morning when I walked to the bus it had been raining

almost the entire night. I woke up various times to the sound

of rain against my window. It was nice. So of course it was 

moist in the air this morning. When it's been raining in the spring

there is this completely amazing smell in the air. A mix of soil,

rain, grass and flowers. This smell has a kind of magical effect

on me. I get happy and relaxed. And also the sounds. The 

sounds of birds chirping after a rainy shower. They are 

always so eager when it has rained. As if this would be the

most crucial time of their life. Just like morning traffic. The

birds are so very busy, when the rain has passed. And then 

once in a while you will be lucky to hear a grasshopper sing 

in the bushes. Amazing that such small animals can make that

much noise just by rubbing their back legs against each other.

And of course there's the colors. The flowers blooming and 

the leaves on the trees and bushes turning green...the magical

transformation from dead winter to a beautiful colorful spring.

Full of life. Like a new born baby. I truly don't see any
legitimate reason not to like spring.
